Delivering Results for Needham
Over the past few years, I’ve been proud to work alongside my Select Board colleagues to to build on Needham’s strengths and deliver tangible progress. I’m proud of the steps we’ve taken to:
Encourage a more diverse housing stock:
Providing town funding to enable the renovation and expansion of units with the Needham Housing Authority
Complying with the MBTA Communities Act, to encourage multi-family housing within walking distance to our train stations
Providing town funding to the Charles River Center to enable the building of housing for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities
Strengthen the Needham’s climate resiliency:
Adopting the Specialized Stretch Energy Code, to make sure our town buildings meet the highest emissions standards
Becoming a Certified Climate Leader Community, enabling us to compete within an elite pool of towns for state climate subsidies
Strengthening our Stormwater Bylaw to help prevent flooding
Help make Needham more affordable:
Establishing Needham Power Choice, which has brought greener and cheaper electricity to residents
Implementing the Valor Act to allow senior and veterans to work off property tax obligations
Improve the quality of life
Working towards the elimination of train horns
Encouraging public art
Cultivating recreational opportunities
